At YHA Castleton we have a number of volunteering opportunities running for 2026.
🆘 The Big Help Out Day, Mini Maintenance & Gardening & Grounds Care - 6th June 2026.
🌲 Regular Gardening and Grounds Maintenance (Non-residential) - all-year opportunity.
🛠️ Volunteer Painter/Decorator (Non-Residential) - all-year round opportunity.
Corporate volunteering is also powerful way to boost employee engagement and support and make a positive impact supporting a Charity. If you have a team and are interested in rolling up your sleeves and help us with painting, decorating, cleaning and more.
We can create a private volunteering event just for you and your employees - also a great walk - Mam Tor, known as the "Shivering Mountain," is a 517-metre (1,696 ft) hill near Castleton in the Peak District, Derbyshire, famous for its dramatic panoramic views.

Whether you’ve got a few hours to spare or are looking for something more regular, there are plenty of ways to get stuck in, meet new people, and help look after the places and spaces that matter most.
Go green-fingered with gardening and grounds maintenance, lend a hand with odd jobs and small fixes or join our effort to tidy up the landscapes that surround our hostels with a litter picking session.
