🌿 Walk of the Week #6 – Ingleton Waterfalls Walk 💦

Looking for another beautiful walk to enjoy right on our doorstep? This week’s Walk of the Week takes us on one of the most famous and spectacular walks in the Yorkshire Dales – the Ingleton Waterfalls Walk! 🥾

📍 Start Point: Broadwood Car Park, Ingleton Waterfalls Trail, LA6 3ET
📏 Distance: Approx. 4.2 miles
⏱️ Difficulty: Moderate
💧 A series of spectacular waterfalls through two wooded gorges

Starting from Ingleton village, this classic circular route follows the River Twiss and River Doe through beautiful woodland and countryside, with waterfalls and impressive scenery throughout.

The route takes you past some of the area's best-known waterfalls, including Pecca Falls, Hollybush Spout, Thornton Force, Beezley Falls, Rival Falls, Baxenghyll Gorge and Snow Falls.

💦 Pecca Falls – a spectacular series of waterfalls dropping around 30 metres through the wooded valley.

🌊 Thornton Force – one of the highlights of the walk, with the River Twiss plunging over a dramatic limestone edge.

🌿 Beezley Falls & Rival Falls – beautiful cascades along the River Doe as the route makes its way back towards Ingleton.

🌲 Baxenghyll Gorge – a dramatic wooded section with the river rushing through the gorge below.

💧 Snow Falls – another beautiful waterfall before the route heads back towards Ingleton.

📸 Plenty of photo opportunities – from woodland paths and riverside scenery to dramatic waterfalls and views across the surrounding Dales.

🐶 Dog-friendly – but please keep dogs under control around livestock and take care around the waterfalls and steep sections.

🥾 Sturdy walking shoes or boots recommended – there are steps, uneven and rocky sections, and some areas can become slippery, particularly after wet weather.

🌦️ Check the weather before setting off – the rivers and waterfalls can be particularly impressive after rainfall, but paths can also become wet and slippery.

Please note that the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail runs over private land and requires an admission fee, with parking included for trail visitors.

This is a fantastic walk for discovering some of the incredible scenery right on our doorstep here in Ingleton, and a perfect way to spend a day exploring the Yorkshire Dales. ❤️
