The Falls Spa at Lodore Falls Hotel & Spa is EXPANDING in 2027!

As a family-owned hotel group since 1983, we're incredibly proud to share this exciting next chapter in the Lake District Hotels story.

The Falls Spa has become a much-loved part of what we offer, welcoming guests from near and far to relax and unwind in the beautiful Borrowdale Valley.

Our aim is simple: to keep building on everything you already love about The Falls Spa, while giving you even more reasons to return.

We've listened to your feedback and are continuing to invest in the experiences you love, with more spa pools, new thermal experiences and beautiful new spaces to relax and take in the Lake District scenery. 🌿

Work will begin in 2027, with everything carefully planned to keep disruption to a minimum while guests continue to enjoy The Falls Spa.

We're so excited about what's ahead and can't wait to share more with you!

Take a closer look at our plans, what's coming and everything you need to know about visiting during the expansion:

Some hotels have a story behind them — The Borrowdale Hotel has 160 years of them.

Welcoming guests since 1866, The Borrowdale Hotel was one of the first coaching inns built in the Borrowdale Valley and still holds on to many of the details that make it so special today.

From the original bells opposite reception to old adverts, invoices and photographs from throughout its history, there are little reminders of the past all around the hotel. Even the gardens have their own story, with the Cherry and Magnolia trees planted when the hotel was first created still growing today!

The hotel has passed through the hands of several families, each leaving their own mark along the way. Then, in 2008, it became part of the Lake District Hotels family when Kit and Charles Graves bought the hotel.

Since then, the family has continued to invest in and renovate The Borrowdale Hotel, while being careful to hold on to the original character and charm that makes it so special.

For anyone looking for a true, classic Lake District stay — full of history, character and the peacefulness of Borrowdale — this is exactly that kind of place.

Have you stayed at The Borrowdale Hotel before? We’d love to hear your memories of Borrowdale Hotel
