Pond work continues, Mr A and my brother are feeling the heat 🥵I think we should have made a swimming pond instead of a wildlife pond🤔

If you’re self employed or work for a company that can’t give you the day off despite the red warning because let’s face it without all the jobs you do the UK will just grind to a halt! So if you’ve not got the day off today do your best, keep calm and carry on we’ve got this 👍I know that lots of places around the world see much hotter temps and manage just fine but we don’t usually have to cope above 25/30 so for everyone who isn’t working today be kind to those that are taking one for team Uk 🇬🇧

It’s pretty tricky to find somewhere to recommend to our guests for a Sunday or Monday Brunch,Lunch or afternoon tea but fills the brief perfectly. The staff are friendly the food is lush (Totally recommend their Cheese omelet with bacon and mushroom)it’s tucked away in a quiet spot which is also excellent to cycle to, they can even help out if you’re stuck with the dreaded puncture 👏🏻

Woke up this morning to find this little ensemble. Mr A doomscrolling found the useful not useful advice that if you put a bowl of Ice by the door it will cool the air -it did not. I did tell him it wouldn’t 🤷🏻‍♀️you’d need an ice cube the size of the one that hit the titanic to cool yesterdays temps! However that’s not what this is about, “how in the mighty snail” did this guy get in last night? through a locked door! Did it spend the night freezing its brains with his head under the waterline like some slowmo hari cari film? We thought it was dead when we discovered it, only came back up after it saw us looking at it! What was he looking for? Nemo! He was absolutely fine by the way (no snails were harmed during the taking of this photo) I relocated him to the lawn, now wondering if he will spend the next 2 weeks making a dash back for an ice bath (he’s going to be disappointed) the moth who had also probably spent the night in the now Luke warm bath was also fine after it dried out. What I want to know is why do they insist on getting inside when they are clearly outside creatures? I’m spending far too much time releasing stuff back to the wild where it should be😒😒😒What are you doing today?

Lovely David Austin roses, really looking fabulous in the garden right now and the best thing is the scent.
