✨ Staff Spotlight: Ruby McDonald ✨

Ruby is now in her third season as part of the team here at Elie Holiday Park, and we are incredibly proud to have her as part of our team. 💙

Ruby has FASD, which can present additional learning challenges, but she has never allowed this to stand in the way of achieving her goals. With the unwavering support of her foster mum Fiona, she continues to inspire everyone around her with her determination, positivity and passion.

As an equal opportunities employer, Abbeyford Leisure is proud to support people from all backgrounds and abilities into employment, helping them build confidence, gain experience and achieve their potential.

Earlier this year, she was selected as a finalist for the Youth Sports Advocate of the Year Award and travelled to Birmingham for the ceremony. Competing against finalists from across Britain, Ruby was named the overall winner, an incredible achievement that we were all delighted to celebrate. 🏆

Her success doesn't stop there. Ruby has since been nominated for a Game Changer Award and next week will attend the opening of the Scottish Parliament as a guest of the Mid Scotland and Fife MSP and recognised as their local hero. During the visit, she will also attend a reception with The King and Queen. 👑

Ruby's journey is a fantastic example of what can be achieved through hard work, determination and the right support. We are incredibly proud of everything she has accomplished and wish her the very best of luck with her latest award nomination. ⭐

🏆 Scotland's World Cup journey begins this week! 🏆

The Tartan Army are heading to football's biggest stage and we can't wait to follow every moment of the adventure. 🇸🇨⚽

Unfortunately, due to the late kick-off time, we won't be showing Haiti vs Scotland (Sunday 14 June, 2:00am).

However, we'll be showing the following Scotland group stage matches LIVE at The Braes St Andrews and Ruddons Bar Elie:

Have you visited the Bee-Road inside the Glasgow Royal Infirmary (GRI)? It is a garden where you can buzz about or find a spot for a nest.

It is next to the working bee hives cared for by the Friends of Glasgow Royal Infirmary, hence the name. Our volunteers make our garden flourish for everyone.

⛳️ Can You Help Support This Incredible Challenge? 💚

We're proud to share a fantastic local fundraising effort in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

For the last 10 years, a dedicated group of golfers (some being our staff!) have taken on the challenge of playing 72 holes of golf in a single day, raising more than £10,000 for Macmillan along the way.

This year's challenge will see the team tee off around 4am and take on four rounds of golf across the day, covering around 25 miles on foot and hitting hundreds of shots before finally finishing in the evening. It's a huge undertaking, all to raise money for a charity that provides vital support to people and families affected by cancer.

We're delighted to spread the word for this year's event, supporting alongside St Michael's Golf Club, Fairmont St Andrews, and Scoonie Golf Course.

If you're able to spare a few pounds, every donation will help support the incredible work Macmillan does every day. Any contribution, big or small, would be hugely appreciated. 💚
