Good, honest country food. And not too many food miles! 🍂

At Meikleour, we are rather fortunate to have so much wonderful produce on our doorstep. From venison from our estate and vegetables from our land to wild mushrooms gathered in our woods, the seasons have a lovely way of finding themselves onto our plates.

Our kitchen team takes these beautiful ingredients and turns them into the sort of food we love: generous, full of flavour, thoughtfully prepared and with a little French flair.

A huge thank you to all our guests for the wonderful feedback we have received recently. Your kind words mean a great deal to our chefs and the whole team, who put so much care into every plate.

After Storm Boelo, we were treated with dramatic skies, fiery puddles and a welcome sense of calm across Meikleour this morning.

A huge thank you to all our estate staff who worked tirelessly yesterday, clearing paths, cutting dangerous branches and making sure everyone was safe.

And this morning, nature treated us to this extraordinary sunrise. Quite a contrast to yesterday!

A weekend to enjoy the forest… indoors! 🌿

With rather wild weather heading our way, we thought we might bring a little of the great outdoors inside.

Birdsong and leafy branches in our bedrooms, woodland creatures in the Atrium, and peaceful Scottish landscapes by the fireside.

All the pleasures of nature, without having to dig out the waterproofs for a wee walk.

Note: Note: We used a snow filter for the first photo 😉. The earliest snow we recorded was 13th of November 2010, followed by a huge dump on the 25th which lasted for months. But but looking at old photos from the 1920s, there was snow on the hills at the end of October ❄️.

Today marks the last day of the salmon fishing season on the River Tay. 🍂

A huge thank you to all our angling guests, and to the ghillies and guides who have looked after them throughout the season.

We raise a glass to the magnificent River Tay, which never ceases to surprise and inspire us.

See you all on 15 January 2027 to celebrate the opening of a new season!

Deep baths, generous walk-in showers, beautiful fittings and thoughtful details. A bathroom should be a pleasure to spend time in, not simply somewhere to get ready.

✨ Meet Garden Cottage!

Our brand-new two-bedroom cottage is now open, tucked away near the Walled Garden with a wonderfully big, secure private garden.

It’s so new it hasn’t even made it onto our website yet — that’s coming next week — but Christmas and New Year have already been snatched up! 🎄🥂

There are still a few dates available over the October half-term holidays, and in the meantime it can be booked directly by giving us a call. ☎️
