A lovely scenic short walk in our beautiful North Yorkshire moors 👌🏼

The Hole of Horcum loop starting at Saltergate is a short and very scenic walk in the North York Moors National Park.

This easy circular route is 2.4 miles (3.9 km) long, takes about 1 hour and 10 minutes, and gives you wide views over the dramatic natural amphitheatre called the “Devil’s Punchbowl.”

You’ll walk through open heather moorland, quiet woodland along Levisham Brow, and finish with a steep climb back to Saltergate. The path can get boggy after rain, so it’s best to wear sturdy boots.

🚂 May dates added for the North Yorkshire Moors Railway fish and chips service. 🐟🍟

Looking for a relaxed day out with great views, heritage railway charm, and proper fish and chips? The North Yorkshire Moors Railway has added May dates for its popular Fish & Chips Service, running on 5, 6, 9, 12, 13, 16 and 19 May.

The experience takes you from Pickering Station to Goathland and back, travelling through the beautiful North York Moors while you sit back, settle in, and enjoy freshly prepared fish and chips from award-winning Capplemans of Pickering.

Your ticket includes a return journey in a wheelchair-accessible carriage, a medium fish and chips, and tea or coffee served during the return trip. Additional drinks will also be available to buy onboard.

For a little extra treat, you can add a cream scone for £5 per person, served with clotted cream and strawberry jam.
