Two handcrafted, pet-free hideaways in the tiny hamlet of Ellerburn, near Dalby Forest. For couples / solo travellers looking for space to just ‘be’.

This leafy corner of the North York Moors is made for slow days, forest wanderings & dark starry skies. Wood burning stove. En-suite shower room. Compact kitchen. A welcome pack of breakfast treats is included to get you started, along with a basket of wood to use on the wood burner or outdoor fire pit.

Have you ever sat around the firepit and looked up to see a sky full of stars?

Being so close to Dalby Forest, we’re lucky enough to enjoy incredibly dark starry skies here. When the sky is clear, particularly when it’s a new moon and the light from the moon is minimal.. the stars are utterly mesmerising 🌌

I think tomorrow will be the kinda day you want to pop the kettle on (we love the whistling kind!), make a teapot of tea (the Yorkshire kind, naturally..) and hunker down to watch the weather roll across the valley…

Resident gardener.. in my happy place here, with hands in the soil. I’ve been known to dig up seedlings for guests to take home… (if you’re thinking of booking a stay here, requesting plants to take home is voluntary!)..

& Andrew ~
Found here tinkering with his bike.. he loves cycling into Dalby Forest - solo or with friends. He’s always happy to share route suggestions if you’re keen to explore the forest..

If you’re not familiar with our story..
We decided to drop out of busy jobs a few years ago to return to Yorkshire where I (Lesley) grew up. We bought an old vicarage which came with a caravan site (the garden)… and along with help from family and friends, have put a lot of love into transforming it into what you see today.

Two hand crafted hideaways set in a slightly wild cottage garden. They’re made for couples or solo explorers looking for time in nature.

It’s a place that gently encourages slow mornings and forest wanderings..

and sitting under dark star filled skies 🌌 ✨

🌲🥾 Using our hand drawn self-guided map, head out on a gentle twilight wander into Dalby Forest, feel the magic as daylight fades - your senses heightened to all the wonderful sounds of nature as darkness slowly draws in.

🔥 Return to your hideaway, light the fire and cosy up under warm blankets with complementary s’mores treats.

And then… look up... feel the wonder

🌌 💫 On a clear night, you might spot a meteor, pick out familiar constellations or simply lose yourself beneath a sky full of stars.
