Half term is well underway in Rhayader, and our kitchen is a busy place.

We’d like to give a special mention to Kyle, one of our younger kitchen assistants, who has been working brilliantly behind the scenes. From the prep that starts the day to keeping up with busy services, he is growing in confidence and developing his skills with every shift. 👏

Across Croeso Grwp, we’re proud to support young people who want to build a career in hospitality, giving them the chance to learn alongside experienced kitchen teams here in Rhayader.

Kyle is putting the work in, and it is great to see his progress. If you’re joining us for food this half term, Kyle and the rest of the kitchen team will be hard at work!

Christmas is coming to the Lamb & Flag, and we’re excited to share this year’s festive menu! 🍴❤️

Gather your friends, family or work colleagues and get your Christmas celebrations booked in!

📅 Available from Friday 27th November until Wednesday 23rd December, on all days we’re open.

A few things to know before booking:
🎄 Our Christmas menu is available by pre-booking only.
🍴 It will run alongside our usual lunch and evening menus, which will remain available throughout the festive period.
🎅 For group bookings, everyone must dine from the same menu, as we’re unable to mix Christmas and regular menu orders within a group.
🥂 Booking for a smaller group? We may suggest dates when other Christmas parties are already booked in. It’s a great way to build that festive atmosphere, get everyone into the Christmas spirit and help our kitchen run smoothly during busy services.

👨‍🍳 𝙃𝙀𝘼𝘿 𝘾𝙃𝙀𝙁 | 𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝙇𝘼𝙈𝘽 𝘼𝙉𝘿 𝙁𝙇𝘼𝙂 🐑
We’re looking for a Head Chef to take the lead in our kitchen at the Lamb & Flag.

This is a hands-on role in a busy, 7-day-a-week pub and restaurant, with responsibility for leading the kitchen team and maintaining high standards across every service.

The role will include:
🍴 Leading day-to-day kitchen operations
👨‍🍳 Managing and developing the kitchen team
📸 Maintaining consistency, quality and presentation
📝 Stock management, ordering and kitchen organisation
🧽 Food safety, cleanliness and kitchen standards
🥘 Working with our management team on menus, specials and the continued development of our food offering

We’re looking for someone organised, reliable and confident leading a team, but equally happy to get stuck in when service gets busy.

Full-time position, including a mixture of daytime, evening, weekday and weekend shifts.
