With Halloween approaching, did you know that one of Shrewsbury's most familiar landmarks has a rather eerie story to tell?

Meet Thomas, a local merchant and MP who, according to locals at the time, met a tragic end at Shrewsbury Train Station during a snowy winter in 1888.

Thomas was waiting on Platform 3 for a train to London when the weight of the snow caused part of the station to collapse, killing him.

But the tale doesn't end there...

Thomas is said to still be seen around Platform 3, with reports of a figure still waiting for a train that will never arrive.

So next time you visit, will you take a glance at Platform 3?
