Shropshire heritage & craft tourist route

Looking for a circular sightseeing route, starting and finishing at Viaduct Guest House in Coalbrookdale. It takes in historic Much Wenlock, Bridgnorth, Telford and the Ironbridge Gorge, with stops for local heritage and crafts.

Route tip: This is a full-day outing if you plan to explore each town and browse the craft centre. Check opening times before setting off, especially for museums and individual Maws studios. The map shows the intended stops; use your navigation app for live traffic and turn-by-turn directions.

Stops in order

* Viaduct Guest House, Coalbrookdale — Start your day at your accommodation.
* Much Wenlock — Explore the historic town, with Wenlock Priory and the attractive High Street.
* Bridgnorth Town Centre — Enjoy the old market town, its riverside setting and the famous Cliff Railway.
* The Hundred House, Norton — A country inn on the A442, a good place to stop for refreshments or a meal.

A cheeky little trip to Ironbridge for a bite to eat! 😍🍽️

📍 The White Heart Ironbride, Ironbridge – Suree’s Thai KitchenSuree’s Thai Kitchen

What a little gem! ❤️ We kicked things off with a mixed starter to share, followed by a delicious Beef Massaman and the special salmon, finished off with fried ice cream. 🤤

✨ Amazing food
✨ An incredible setting
✨ Fantastic service from a lovely team

Everything was spot on, and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit!

Would we recommend it? Absolutely YES! 🙌

Bridgnorth is a beautiful market town a 20 minute drive from us on Coalbrookdale. Boutique shops, Restaurants, Coffee Shops, Walks, River Severn. On Saturday street market too.

Great news, another museum is set to open their doors.. albeit for only a few days a week. It’s another step towards all the doors being open again.
