One month in....and we’ve learned that:⁠
⁠
❤️ Chef Rupert makes a bangin’ salsa⁠
😎 spend an awful lot of time here ⁠
🐶 that we sell a lot of ⁠
🥰 friends gather over coffee⁠
☀️ means brollies are super useful, we needed a buzzer system and an outside bar - which we now have!⁠
❤️ our chicken wings are super popular⁠
🤩 and so are our cheesy chips!⁠
🌈 that even when it’s cooler, the garden is much loved
🛶 the foot ferry is back in action
🥐 pastries are a hit
⁠
And so much more!⁠

Pub grub never looked so good! Moroccan Spiced Sardines with tabbouleh, salsa, charred lemon, herb oil, and best still they are dairy-free.

The River Exe Estuary can feel a little quieter for birds in June mainly because many of the large flocks that visit over autumn and winter have headed elsewhere to breed.

une is more about resident birds raising young, hidden nests in the reeds and saltmarsh, and occasional glimpses of chicks and fledglings rather than huge dramatic flocks.

So while it can seem “quieter”, there’s actually lots happening! Just in a softer, more tucked-away way.

Canal path views, the foot ferry crossing (or from the little car park), a bit of fresh air and finally us waiting at the end of it all ⁠

One of the best parts of the journey to us is that no two walks along the Exeter Ship Canal are ever going to look quite the same because there is always something happening on route!⁠
