It was so lovely to see Rob back at the Glen-Yr-Afon, and even better to welcome him this time with his friends from the Morgan Owners Club. ❤️

What a fantastic sight seeing all those beautiful Morgans arriving as they make their way through Wales!

We always love welcoming familiar faces back to the hotel, and it was a real pleasure to catch up with Rob and meet more of his Morgan friends. We hope you all have a wonderful time exploring the Welsh roads, enjoying the scenery and making the most of your trip together.

We recently had the real pleasure of welcoming Aled and Nesta to the Glen-Yr-Afon as they celebrated an incredible 60 years of marriage with a special family dinner. 🥂💍

Sixty years of love, laughter, memories and shared adventures is certainly something to celebrate, and we were delighted to be part of such a special occasion surrounded by their family.

💍 Two Days. One Hotel. One Very Special Wedding. ❤️

On 11th July, we had the absolute pleasure of welcoming Harry & Taylor to the Glen-Yr-Afon for a truly special wedding celebration.

For two wonderful days, the entire hotel was exclusively theirs, giving Harry, Taylor and their family and friends the chance to relax, celebrate and enjoy every moment together in their own private setting.

From the first welcome to the final farewell, it was a pleasure to be part of their special occasion – and what a celebration it was! 🥂✨

❤️ 40 Years Later… Back Where It All Began! ❤️

Today we were delighted to welcome Chris and Linda Edge back to the Glen-Yr-Afon to celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary.

There have certainly been a few changes here over the past four decades! When Chris and Linda celebrated their wedding with us 40 years ago, the Glen-Yr-Afon was much smaller, our ballroom hadn’t even been built, and their wedding reception took place in a marquee in the grounds.

Fast forward 40 years, and it was wonderful to see them return and reminisce about their special day. Also making it special was having Ros, who was Linda’s bridesmaid all those years ago, and her husband Nigel joining them for the celebrations.

It’s always a pleasure when couples return to the Glen-Yr-Afon to celebrate another chapter in their story — and Chris and Linda’s is certainly a special one. 🥂

Congratulations to you both on 40 wonderful years of marriage, from everyone at the Glen-Yr-Afon. ❤️

🥾 Six Go Walking! 🍂🇺🇸

No, not the latest Enid Blyton novel… but the Women on the Move gang , who have been walking and travelling together since 2003!

We had the pleasure of welcoming Lori, Amy, Pat, Carol, Mais and Janice from the USA to the Glen-Yr-Afon as part of their walking tour of South Wales.

They’ve been exploring the beautiful Usk Valley, with the first hints of those gorgeous autumn colours beginning to appear. 🍁🥾

It was lovely to have you all stay with us, ladies. We hope you enjoyed the walking, the scenery and, of course, your time at the Glen-Yr-Afon!

💍 THANK YOU, CAROL! 🥂

Yesterday marked the end of an incredible 19 years for our wonderful Wedding Coordinator, Carol, here at the Glen-Yr-Afon House Hotel.

Over nearly two decades, Carol has played a huge part in helping so many couples plan and enjoy their special day. From the initial planning and organisation to making sure everything runs smoothly on the big day, her experience, knowledge and attention to detail have been invaluable.

We’d like to say a massive thank you, Carol, for everything you have done for the hotel, our wedding team and, of course, all the wonderful couples you have looked after over the years.

Nineteen years is quite an achievement, and you’ve certainly made your mark on the Glen-Yr-Afon! We’ll miss having you as part of the team and wish you all the very best for the future. ❤️

And now, it’s time to welcome Claire, who takes over this exciting role. 💍

Claire is joining us as our new Wedding Coordinator and we’re delighted to have her on board. We’re looking forward to seeing her bring her own ideas and enthusiasm to the role and continuing to create fantastic wedding days for our couples.

🌞 Afternoon Tea on the Lawn! 🫖🍰

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our Afternoon Tea on the Lawn! 💕

The weather was just perfect — not too hot, plenty of shade beneath our gazebo, delicious afternoon tea and, of course, the wonderful sounds of Mighty Fozzy providing the entertainment! 🎶

It was fantastic to see so many of you enjoying the afternoon with us. We hope you had as much fun as we did!
