🪐👋 Last chance to catch Jupiter before it disappears from our evening skies!

For the past several months, Jupiter has been putting on a spectacular show — from its swirling cloud belts to its four famous Galilean moons.

But June marks your final opportunity to see the giant planet before it gradually slips into the glow of the Sun.

So where does it go? 🤔

Jupiter isn’t actually disappearing at all. As Earth and Jupiter continue moving around the Sun at different speeds, our viewing angle changes. Eventually Jupiter appears too close to the Sun in our sky, becoming lost in the bright twilight and daylight glare.

For a while, the giant planet will hide beyond our reach...

Then later in the year it will make its return — rising once again in the eastern sky, beginning a whole new observing season.

And there’s something a little special about saying goodbye.

✨ You're looking at a world 11 times wider than Earth
✨ A planet so large that more than 1,300 Earths could fit inside it
✨ A giant that has been watching over humanity since the earliest skywatchers looked up

This isn't just a planet disappearing below the horizon...

It's the closing act of another season in the sky.

Pop Up Art @ The Battlesteads

Come and browse over the weekend of 13th and 14th June, 2 local artists will be displaying and selling their work. 11am until 6pm each day.

Robin works mainly in acrylics and oil, Dee paints with wool and pencils .

Come along and meet them and you never know you might end up buying a future masterpiece! #
