🌾A little website update from Summerfield Farm
We’ve been looking at updating our website for a while now, and what started as a few photographs and bits of information needing changing has turned into quite a bit more!
When we actually sat down and looked at it, we realised just how much has changed here over the last two years. We’ve replaced roofs, updated furniture and equipment, made improvements to the cottages, opened the brand new Freedom Lodge, and generally been working our way through a rather long list of jobs.
But our website hasn’t really kept up with all of that.
It’s also made us think a bit more about the information people need when they’re looking for somewhere accessible to stay.
We answer a lot of questions about bed sizes, equipment, wetrooms, door widths and layouts, and while we’re always happy to help, much of that information could probably be easier to find without people having to ask.
We’ve had some really useful feedback and conversations with guests over the years too, which has made us look at things a little differently.
For families and carers, being able to see the finer details of a property before booking can be really important. And for care homes, support providers and organisations arranging holidays, there’s often additional information needed, including policies, risk assessments and Access Guides.
So we’ve been asking ourselves whether our website is actually doing enough to help with all of that.
We’ve decided to make more information available to download directly, alongside updated photographs, virtual tours, clearer property descriptions and more detailed accessibility information.
Hopefully this will mean people can look through everything in their own time, share it with family members, carers or professionals where needed, and have a much better idea of whether our accommodation will suit their needs.
It’s still a work in progress, and there’s quite a bit going on behind the scenes, but we’re hoping to have the updated website ready in the coming weeks.
In the meantime, we’d be interested to know what information you find most useful when looking at accessible accommodation. Is there anything you wish more places included on their websites?
We’re always learning, and feedback from the people actually using our accommodation is often the most helpful. 💛
