Hello!

It’s York races tomorrow! Family fun day! We will be open from 11am for bacon or sausage Buttys however, we are running our normal menu and hot meat sarnies instead of Sunday lunch!

That means… Sunday parmos 😏

In case anyone is wondering how Jeff is doing…

Jeff is fine! He’s settled in well. Jeff was kindly donated a harness and a lead. I think this is the only way we can get Jeff downstairs now as he seems to now have taken up full residency in my flat despite my encouragement for him to meet his followers inside the pub🙈
However, due to the races this week that isn’t a bad thing….

Jeff and Chico the house cat have had some minor differences recently (*cough cough*) but they both seem to be happy enough on the whole. Jeff is at the vets on Wednesday for a repeat of his blood test which showed no sign over overactive thyroid. There was a slight liver enzyme raised so vet advised to repeat. Jeff will also be getting booked in for his teeth at this appointment in the coming weeks.

Il just repost yesterday’s very expensive race day offer. As a local business, when I set this price, I also accounted for the other cafes prices in my area. This offer (bar the alcoholic drink) is bang in line with local cafes where a butty and a tea would cost approx £8.

I have also considered some of the recommendations around my advertising, and the board of director think this is an anti-small business approach. However, to stimulate the local economy, if anyone would like to use the front of the bay horse to do some busking and provide community value to the Micklegate area please get in touch as you are welcome to some of the pavement outside to make some pennies 😊
