We are throwing a little thank you party for all staff and also a well earned rest before the Xmas market rush 🥂 🎄

Apologies for any inconvenience but good staff really are at the centre of the bay horse and il make no apologies for being a employer who genuinely cares and appreciates it 😊

BUT we will also be dropping some exciting NEW stuff too ready for Christmas. So eyes peeled 😏

So we have been quieter on here than ever…

We’ve been to Australia! 🇦🇺 but we’re back from down under and refreshed and raring to go.

I want to say a HUGE thank you to all staff that kept it ticking and running smoothly- without that staff at the Bay Horse it wouldn’t be the same. A good business is only as good as those who work it… and I all I can say is I’m still here ♥️ so thank you. And thank you to customers for your patience and support. This trip meant to me and Jack something huge..
and we also celebrated 10 years of being together out there! ♥️🥰

I came back to a Government budget that yet again is going to seriously hurt Hospitality and small business around the country. Travelling in Australia proved that this Giverbment really are doing it wrong.

Rural and City Pubs/Cafes/Restaurants are thriving. Sadly our high street and local business’s are often left behind and derelict. It’s sad. It truly is. But we live on. This Government will not get better of the Bay Horse 💪🏻

But I do urge everyone to use and shop local! 🙏🏻

Update on Jeff! 🐈‍⬛

So as you maybe be aware the fundraising was amazing and we finally managed to get Jeff’s teeth done!

Jeff is looking so well. He ended up having 5 teeth in total out on Thursday but he’s really perked up and enjoying life at the minute 😊

Once again thank you all for the contributions you had made. Here’s to a happier and much healthier Jeff!

I woke up this morning, opened Facebook and was met with this article reported by GB News. A brief google search shows other news outlets too have reported the same.

This is rhetoric from the current Labour Government and as a supporter and campaigner for pub issues I would like to make a statement using my business platform.

It is completely unacceptable to make an association with appreciating and enjoying cosy country pubs to far-right extremism. Let me make myself clear, this association is completely unacceptable. To refer to those who enjoy rural life and Sunday lunch in front of a roaring fire in the countryside as genocide supporters and ethno-nationalists is abhorrent and they deserve no place on that cabinet nor within a mainstream political party.

This statement achieves nothing but further damage to an industry that is struggling. I cannot believe someone would stoop so low to make a wild observation between ‘warm ale’ (which by the way if you know anything about real ale you would know it is not ‘chilled’ in the same way ciders and la**rs are), to being a fan of mass genocide, persecution, anti-semitism and division.

So here I am, once again standing up for my industry and calling out our local MP publically to deal with her colleague on behalf of the people of York who like a country pub, support country pubs, run country pubs and have now been made to feel isolated once again with rhetoric that I find completely and utterly despicable. What type of person even makes that assumption? Why would you want someone with that type of inflammatory rhetoric in your team?

Rachael Maskell City of York Council and The Labour Party I would appreciate a full response with the following points addressed:

1) Can you confirm if the Labour Parties position on country pubs is that they are symbolic of far right activity within this country?

2) Can you confirm if the Labour Parties position is that supporters of rural pubs must have extreme far right beliefs?

3) Can you confirm what evidence they is that suggests users of Country pubs are members of far-right organisations?

4) Can you confirm that you have put in place preventive measures for rural pubs which will keep them safe at night now you have associated them with far right activists?

Shameful.

The thousands of Innocent lives lost.
The thousands of families and friends left without their loved ones.
The lives ended so suddenly

Where were you when this happened?

I can remember as a 6 year old girl seeing it on the news and even then I was so shocked.

It’s York races tomorrow! Family fun day! We will be open from 11am for bacon or sausage Buttys however, we are running our normal menu and hot meat sarnies instead of Sunday lunch!

That means… Sunday parmos 😏
