We spent the entire month of August in England and this was by far the BEST lodging during the trip. No. 21 York B&B is in a great location, convenient to the train & all of the sites.
Our room was well appointed, spacious, clean, quiet & comfortable. Most importantly, Simon & Andrea provide exceptional hospitality! They were engaging, informative & genuinely interested in making sure we had a comfortable & enjoyable stay.
Oh, the breakfasts were delicious, locally sourced and prepared by Simon! They were responsive to our inquiries about city information before & during our stay and even sent us some suggestions for places we were visiting later on. Highly recommended!

We have had a some pescaterian guests on over the past few days, so we picked up some smoked salmon and kippers for them, served alongside some of our regular options...
Scrambled Egg, Cinnamon Swirl and Wensleydale Cheese, Spinach and Mushroom Egg Muffins, Poached Eggs and Avocado on Homemade Sourdough, and Mushroom & Butterbean Bruschetta.

No. 21 York is one of those rare, totally committed, service-oriented, owner-run small businesses that that makes travel so memorable. We didn’t know how fortunate we were to have booked this gem of a B&B until we checked in and met Simon, who runs the inn with his wife Andrea. Simon offered a wealth of recommendations on local restaurants, sights, and activities, and was a joy to chat with during breakfast. He walked us thru all the features & amenities of our room with patience & care. He personally cooks and serves the delicious, locally sourced breakfasts every morning. Those breakfasts alone are worth the stay! Our room, though small ( #2), had everything we could possibly need for a very comfortable stay: heated towel racks and organic products in the bathroom, a sophisticated ceiling fan, a mini-fridge with real milk and water in glass bottles replenished daily, robes & slippers, and a beautiful huge openable window for fresh air. In the future, we would not consider staying anywhere else in York, at any price. Thank you, Simon & Andrea!

Two lovely reviews on Google to welcome us back after our break. Thanks to our US Family - Elizabeth, Spencer, Anne, Aurelia and Felicity - it was a pleasure to meet you all and have you stay. We are happy to hear that your English B&B expectations were surpassed on every level.
