🧠 TIME TO PUT THOSE RANDOM FACTS TO USE! 📝

The Gillygate Quiz returns this Thursday from 7pm, so gather the team and prepare for another evening of questions, questionable answers, and friendly competition.

We're keeping things properly traditional with pens and paper, no fancy apps required. All you need is a team, a drink, and hopefully someone who remembers all those completely useless facts you've accumulated over the years.

Come along, find a table, and see how you get on.

Wednesday brings Martin Ledger & friends back to The Gillygate for another Blues Collective from 8pm.

It's a night built around musicians coming together, sharing the stage, and seeing where the music takes them. Expect plenty of blues, soulful playing, and the easy-going atmosphere that's made these Wednesday evenings such an enjoyable part of the week.

Grab a pint, find a comfortable spot, and enjoy some proper live music.

🍻 THIS WEEK AT THE GILLYGATE 🍻

Another week is here, and we've got plenty happening from Monday right through to Sunday. Live music, blues, a bit of friendly competition, and another Sunday afternoon in the garden, plenty of reasons to call in and spend some time with us.

🎤 Monday – Open Acoustic Session (8:30pm)
Dan Webster & Emily Lawler get the week started with our Open Acoustic Session. Musicians are welcome to bring an instrument and get involved, while everyone else can grab a drink, find a seat, and enjoy a relaxed evening of live music where you never quite know what you'll hear next.

🎶 Wednesday – Blues Collective (8pm)
Martin Ledger & friends are back for another evening of blues, collaboration, and fantastic live musicianship. It's become one of our favourite ways to break up the working week, with a laid-back atmosphere and plenty of great music filling the pub.

🧠 Thursday – The Gillygate Quiz (7pm)
Round up your team and put those random bits of knowledge to good use. Our proper pen-and-paper pub quiz brings plenty of questions, laughs, and friendly rivalry. Grab a drink, get comfortable, and see whether this is your week to come out on top.

🎸 Friday – Live Music: Geordie Kay (9–11pm)
We're pleased to welcome Geordie Kay to The Gillygate this Friday. Settle in for a couple of hours of live music and the relaxed, friendly atmosphere that Friday nights here are all about. Grab your mates, get the drinks in, and let Geordie provide the soundtrack as another weekend gets underway.

☀️♠️ Sunday – Garden Sessions & Redtooth Poker
Our summer Sunday Garden Sessions concludes with with Bethan Edincott joining us in the beer garden from 5–7pm. Find yourself a spot outside, grab a drink, and enjoy a couple of hours of acoustic music as we make the most of the remaining summer evenings.

Then at 7pm, the evening continues inside with Redtooth Poker. It's a £10 buy-in, the tables are friendly, and everyone is welcome to get involved.

Our daytime menu is available throughout the week with sandwiches, toasties, soups, cakes and more. Perfect for lunch, a catch-up over coffee, or a bite to eat before the evening gets underway.

Monday evenings at The Gillygate mean one thing, another Open Acoustic Session with Dan Webster & Emily Lawler.

From 8:30pm, musicians from around York come together for a relaxed evening of songs, collaborations, and whatever else the night happens to bring.

If you play, bring your instrument along and get involved. If you'd rather leave the performing to somebody else, grab yourself a pint, settle in, and enjoy an evening of live local music.

No two Mondays are ever quite the same.

This Sunday we're welcoming Acoustic Animals to the beer garden from 5–7pm for another of our summer Garden Sessions.

Come and settle into the garden with a drink, enjoy a couple of hours of live acoustic music, and make the most of the summer evening while we've still got them.

Then, when the music finishes at 7pm, the evening carries on inside with Redtooth Poker. £10 buy-in, friendly tables, and everyone is welcome to join in.
