The Gathering Tide was such a fantastic celebration of community, creativity and connection!

Huge congratulations to Chloe Loftus Dance and Nelson Arts Festival for bringing this incredible event to life, and a big shout-out to Alvaro Moreno for the awesome DJ set and tunes! 🎶💃

Join Emma Gilkison and Robin Robilliard in conversation with Kerry Sunderland as they share remarkable stories of Tāhunanui Beach and Golden Bay.

THE GATHERING TIDE | 7PM
Then head straight to Tāhunanui Beach as the sun sets for something truly magical!

Created by internationally acclaimed local artist Chloe Loftus, this spectacular FREE event transforms our iconic shoreline into a celebration of movement.

🏀 A little throwback to some BIG basketball moments!

Winter might be behind us, but we're still smiling about all the fun we had during our 2026 Giants Experience! 💙

Proudly funded by Tāhuna Beach Holiday Park, this programme brought six local schools together with the NBS Nelson Giants for some unforgettable experiences, inspiring young players, building confidence and learning about teamwork, sportsmanship and life as an elite athlete.

A huge shout-out to Hampden Street School, Birchwood School, Nelson Central School, Appleby School, Tahunanui School and Nelson Christian Academy for bringing so much enthusiasm, laughter and positive energy! 🙌

And a massive thank you to the NBS Nelson Giants players who were absolutely fantastic with the kids! Your encouragement, patience and enthusiasm made these mornings so special and gave the students memories they'll treasure for a long time.

The countdown is ON! 🎉 Playspace Whakatū officially opens on Saturday 28 November, and we can’t wait! 😍

It’s so exciting to see this incredible project coming together! We’re proud to have played a small part in bringing it to life by providing accommodation for the talented PB Sculpt team while they worked their magic hand-sculpting the eye of Te Wheke. 🐙

We can’t wait to see the finished playspace and all the fun it will bring to our community! 💙
