REMINDER: That applications for the Tauhara Moana Trust Kaumātua Grant close on the 15th November 2026.

Please see the pānui attached for information on how to apply.

Kia ora koutou,

Tauhara Moana Trust is pleased to offer Kaumātua Grants to all beneficiaries of the Māori Freehold Block Tauhara North 3B who are aged 65 years and over as at 31 December 2026.

If you or any of the owners in your Whānau Trust meet the age criteria , you are now eligible to apply.

𝐀𝐮𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐏𝐚𝐲𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬:
If you received the grant in 2025, you will receive the grant automatically at the end of November 2026. If your bank details have since changed, please contact the Trust Office as soon as possible.

𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐎𝐰𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬:
If you are a new applicant, you must complete the application form and provide the supporting documents to receive payment.

𝐖𝐡ā𝐧𝐚𝐮 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐬:
If you are the main contact person for your Whānau Trust please complete the 'Whānau Trust Details' section on the form and forward to all owners within the Whānau Trust who are 65 or over to complete and return to the office.

Along with the completed application form, new applicants must provide proof of age and verified bank account details:

A reminder of the grants available through Wairakei Charitable Trust (WCT) for whānau with natural whakapapa to one or more of the following Marae:
Nukuhau Pā, Maroanui Marae, Te Rangiita Marae (ki Nukuhau) and/or Te Kapa o Te Rangiita Marae (ki Oruanui).

🎓 Education Grant – support for tertiary study for registered WCT members

🌿 Wānanga Grant – support for whānau and hapū wānanga held on the Marae

🛠️ Project Grant – support for projects that benefit ngā hapū o Wairakei

🕊 Marae Unveiling Grant – support for headstone unveilings held at a WCT Marae and urupā

🗓️ Applications are processed monthly from February to November and close on the 10th of each month.

Tauhara Moana Trust has a relocated building that we would like to see given a second life in the community.

Preference will be given to kura, marae, community groups and other not-for-profit organisations that can put the building to good use. Whānau are also welcome to register their interest.

If no suitable group comes forward, other expressions of interest may be considered.

📍 Located on-site at Tauhara Moana Farm, near Taupō
💲 The building is available free of charge – the successful party will need to cover all relocation costs (removal, transport, permits and site reinstatement)
📝 You must be able to provide adequate landowner approval for the buildings new site
🔧 As is, where is – the building has never been set up and will require full replumbing

⏰ Registrations of interest close at 3pm, Friday 23 October 2026.
