We can confirm you will definitely be colourful! 🌈

Get ready for the Colour Run Walk, this Sunday, 20th September here at Waipu Caves Farm Park. The course is confirmed, with the option of doing the full 5.7km or a shorter version of around 3km - and if your up for the challenge you can complete it twice! Either way, you’ll be getting covered in plenty of colour! Have a look at the map on our website.

Bottles of colour will also be available to purchase on the day for $5 each if you want to add even more colour to the fun. We’ve been busy filling a massive 50kg of colour into bottles ready for both the Colour Run and Mudmania! 🎨🙌

Yesterday, 14th September, we had the pleasure of welcoming a group from Taylor University in Indiana, USA to Waipu Caves Farm Park!

The group joined JJ and Andrew for a guided tour through our Milky Way Glowworm Cave, where they discovered more about the fascinating ecology of our native glowworms, Arachnocampa luminosa, and the unique cave system they call home.

Formed over millions of years, our limestone cave is full of fascinating geological features and living ecosystems, making a visit much more than just a glowworm experience.

We love welcoming groups from around New Zealand and across the world and sharing the natural history, science and conservation of our special corner of Northland.

Our Colour Run Walk is coming up this Sunday, 20th September and we would love to see more of you joining us for a fun-filled morning here at Waipu Caves Farm Park. 🏹 Take aim… ready… aim… FIRE! 🎯

Wednesday 9th September was all about learning new skills, building confidence and, most importantly, having plenty of fun!

This group of William Pike Challenge students put their archery skills to the test, learning how to safely use a bow and arrow before taking aim at the targets, with instructors Kyle and Jj there to guide and help. There were plenty of great shots at the predator targets, encouragement and laughs along the way!

The group also took on our orienteering course, putting their compass work, navigation and teamwork skills to the test.

Archery is a fun and exciting activity that gets everyone outdoors, encourages confidence and gives participants the opportunity to learn something new.
