New Mexico Day is returning to the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta in 2026, giving New Mexico residents one day of free general admission.
The special promotion will take place Monday, October 5, during the 54th Balloon Fiesta. This will mark the third year Balloon Fiesta has offered New Mexico Day as a thank you to residents for their longtime support.
To receive free admission, residents will need to present a photo ID with a New Mexico address or a utility bill showing a New Mexico address at a ticket booth located near the gates.
The free admission offer applies only on October 5 and must be redeemed in person. Parking fees will still apply, and no rainchecks will be issued if flying events are canceled.
Monday’s schedule includes a drone light show at 5:45 a.m., Dawn Patrol at 6 a.m., balloon launch at 7 a.m. and Fly-In Competition activities beginning at 8 a.m.
The 2026 Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta runs October 3–11 and is expected to feature more than 500 hot air balloons over nine days.
