Get those costumes ready and grab your candy buckets! 🍬

Citywide trick-or-treating in Alexandria will take place on Saturday, October 31st, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM!

🚗 Drivers, please use extra caution! Our streets will be filled with little ghosts, goblins, princesses, and superheroes making their way from house to house. Slow down, stay alert, and watch for children crossing streets and driveways.

🍭 Families, remember to stay safe! Carry a flashlight, use sidewalks when available, and make sure children are accompanied by a responsible adult.

🍎 Drive-Up Food Pantry at Beulah Park - Tomorrow! 🍎

The 2nd Harvest Food Bank will host its drive-up food pantry at **Beulah Park tomorrow, Wednesday, October 21st, from 3:00–5:00 PM**.

If you or someone you know could use a helping hand, please stop by. This is a convenient **drive-up distribution**, and all are welcome.

⚠️ **Food goes quickly, so we encourage you to arrive early.** Distribution will continue while supplies last.

💧 CITY OF ALEXANDRIA – DISCOLORED WATER NOTICE 💧

Residents in some areas of Alexandria may notice discolored or brownish water coming from their faucets.

🚒 What caused this?

The Alexandria Fire Department responded to a house fire on North Harrison Street. The large volume of water needed to fight the fire caused changes in water pressure and flow within portions of the City's water distribution system.

These changes can stir up naturally occurring sediment and minerals that have settled inside water mains, resulting in temporary water discoloration.

✅ IMPORTANT: There is NO boil-water advisory in effect. The Water Department has confirmed that a boil-water advisory is not necessary as a result of this incident.

💧 What should you do if your water is discolored?

✅ Run cold water: Turn on a cold-water faucet, preferably a bathtub faucet or another faucet without a screen, and let it run for 5–10 minutes to see if the water begins to clear.

✅ Avoid using hot water: Until your water runs clear, avoid using hot water to prevent drawing sediment into your water heater.

✅ Hold off on laundry: Avoid washing clothes, especially whites and light-colored items, until the water clears to prevent possible staining.

✅ Give it some time: If the water does not clear after running it for several minutes, turn off the faucet, wait 30–60 minutes, and try again.

While the discoloration may be concerning, it is typically temporary and should improve as sediment settles and normal water flow returns. As a precaution, avoid drinking or cooking with visibly discolored water until it clears.

Alexandria's Monster Bash is almost here, and we still need more trunks to join the fun!

Last year, nearly 2,000 kids attended our Trunk or Treat, and we're hoping to make this year's celebration even BIGGER and BETTER! But we need YOUR help to make it happen! 🎉

We're inviting businesses, churches, organizations, clubs, families, and community groups to get involved! All you need to do is decorate a vehicle, bring treats, and help us create a fun, memorable Halloween night for our local kids!
