One of the most remarkable sights on Fripp Island happens each summer. Female loggerhead sea turtles make their way ashore to nest, laying their eggs in the sand before beginning their quiet return to the ocean. Seeing the tracks left behind at sunrise is a powerful reminder that Fripp Island is part of an ancient cycle that has been repeated for generations. These incredible creatures travel thousands of miles, yet return to our beaches to continue the journey of life. If you're visiting during nesting season, remember to give nests and turtles plenty of space and help protect them by keeping beaches dark at night.
