From Our ER:

As we move into November, it is a
special month as we give thanks for the many
blessings we have.

Kicking off this month is a special thanks to our
Veterans with our monthly dinner Nov.3. To show
our vets how much we appreciate them, we will be
serving a Thanksgiving Dinner. We need
volunteers and if you are willing to donate your
time, please be at the Lodge by 4:30 pm.

We will be hosting "Veterans Mental Health
Awareness" Nov.7 from 1 pm-3 pm. This event,
sponsored by Hart and Alzheimers Associations is
geared to bring awareness of the struggles some
of our vets face after being released from active
service. There will be vendors present to offer
information on how you can help.

Looking ahead, we will have our Annual Elks
Memorial Service at 12 noon Dec.6. Please join us
as we pay tribute to our fellow Elks who have left
us. We will be having a visit and inspection from
our West District Deputy Dec.14, so let's start
preparations now.

I want to express my thanks to each of you for
being a part of our Lodge and for all the hard work
you all put in so we can be part of something so
rewarding, by giving back to our communities.
Happy Thanksgiving to all of you and your
families!

Elks Most Valuable StudentScholarship and
the NYState Elks scholarship is November
12th. They are submitted on the computer.

We are sorry to inform you that Rita Pollinger
fell and sustained a very nasty injury. She suffered
a Compressed Compression Fracture of the L4 bone
in her back. Please keep her in your prayers.

Elks Memorial Service

Living or Dead, an Elk is never forgotten,
In keeping with this motto, the officers of the
Ken-Ton Elks Lodge #1942 will conduct a Memorial
Service in honor of their departed members. It will
be held on Sunday, Dec. 6th at 12 noon in our Lodge
located at 2805 Elmwood Ave. in Kenmore. Formal
attire for officers. Elks Memorial Service

Veterans Remembrance Month

“ So long as there are Veterans, The Benevolent
and Protective Order of Elks will never Forget
them.” November is Veterans Remembrance
Month. We give thanks to the men and women
that provide the very freedoms this Nation was
founded upon. We remember those that paid the
ultimate sacrifice to continue providing that very
freedom.

Whether Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine, Coast
Guard or Border Patrol, sacrifices have been
made. The men and women which serve our
Nation have written a blank check to protect each
and every one of us. “All gave some, some gave all”
We, as Elks, are dedicated to the United States
veteran. WE WILL NEVER FORGET.

Wouldn’t it be nice to send a few Christmas cards
to a wounded or hospitalized soldier. Our Vets
ask very little of us, but always gave their all.
