From Our ER:

As Summer winds down (it is still 3 weeks
before Fall hits despite popular belief Summer
ends on Labor Day), I hope everyone had the
chance to do something exciting while enjoying
the gorgeous Buffalo weather.

I would like to thank all the volunteers who
donated their time as Parking Attendants for
Canal Fest. With the large amount of volunteers,
we accomplished our goal of raising money to
stabilize our finances. Thank you again to
everyone who braved the hot summer sun. We
owe you all a great deal of gratitude. We also
experienced great turnouts for our "Patio Series"
featuring the bands "Slim Chance" and the
"Party Hounds" and our "60's Night".

Looking ahead, September is a rather "quiet"
month. I am hoping we can use this month to
work together planning more events and
fundraisers. If we continue working together, as
we proved by participating in the Canal Fest,
we can accomplish anything.

Dart League
Dart League will begin play Sept.10 at 7 pm. If you
are interested in joining, please be at the lodge on
the 10th by 6:45 pm to be placed on a team. League
runs for 10 weeks

Raffle
We are having a Buffalo Bills framed picture
raffle to be held at the halftime of the Bills
football game on the 13th of September.

Tickets can be purchased from Geri Busshart
or the Lodge Bartender for $1.00 a piece or 6
for $5.

Scholarships
Applications for the Elks Most Valuable Student
Scholarships are now available to all high school
seniors.You do not have to be related to an Elk
member to apply. Applications will be done on the
computer. Log on to enf.elks.org/mvs.

Deadline for submission is November 12th. 20
winners receive 4 yr. Scholarships of $30,000.

The 480 runner ups receive $4,000 each.

New York State Elk Scholarship applications are
available for high school seniors, college freshmen,
sophomores and juniors who are sons/stepson or
daughter/step-daughter of an Elk member in good
standing. The deadline for submission of these
applications to the State is also November 12th.
These applications will also be completed on the
computer. Log on to same website. Please contact
me for further details.

The Legacy Awards are $6000 scholarships
established to help Elks families overcome the
struggle with rising costs of a college education. They
are open to any child or grandchild or (step-child,
step grandchild or legal ward) of a living Elk who
joined the Order on or after April 1, 2024 The
sponsoring Elk must be a dues paying member
through March 31, 2027 Great grandchildren are not
eligible. The applicant must be a high school senior
or equivalent. Applications are due by Feb.1
