I was recently invited to be featured in Voyage San Antonio’s “Hidden Gems: Local Businesses & Creatives You Should Know,” where I shared the story behind my Tiny House Cottages. I thought you all might enjoy a little of the history behind it. 🙂

What started as a vision has truly been a journey. As a full-time graphic designer for over 40 years, I’ve always had a creative spirit—but this project pushed me in entirely new ways. Taking on the challenge as a single woman, I purchased the property and developed it into a peaceful getaway in the Texas Hill Country, building and designing each tiny house with intention and care.

Of course, it hasn’t been without its challenges. Like many in the short-term rental market, I’ve had to navigate seasonal slowdowns, increasing competition, and even environmental factors like lower lake levels impacting tourism. On top of that, managing guest expectations can be demanding—but I’ve learned patience and adaptability along the way.

Despite it all, it’s been incredibly rewarding to create a space where people can relax, recharge, and experience the beauty of the Hill Country. Hosting has become something I truly enjoy, and I’m always striving to make each guest’s stay special.
