We love looking at old photographs from Takundewide because they remind us that before phones, streaming, email, and video games families spent an entire week together entertaining themselves.

Be back before dinner.
Don't leave your towel on the dock.
Don't come inside dripping wet.
Don't wake everyone up when you come in late.
And somehow, despite all those rules, you survived.

Dock Doctors are back!

Work has started on rebuilding the south sundecks and docks, and we’re already looking ahead to next season. The boathouse sundecks are some of those special places to spend a long, sunny afternoon taking in the spectacular views, watch the sun set over the mountains, or catch fireworks from the village on a summer evening. We’re excited to get this project underway and make Takundewide even better for the seasons ahead. More updates as the work progresses!

There's always a morning in October when you walk outside and realize:
Summer is really over.
The lake is still there.
The cottages are still there.
But the air has changed.
It's one of those little moments that reminds us how quickly a summer goes by.

Different decades. Different kids. Same fall magic.

The crunchy leaves, the biggest jump, the laughter, and the memories that somehow last a lifetime. Who remembers jumping into a giant pile of leaves?

There’s just something special about a place where families can slow down, kids can be kids, and the simplest moments become the stories we tell for years to come. That’s what Takundewide is all about.

We spend so much of the year getting ready for summer that sometimes we forget to stop and appreciate this version of the lake, too. Suddenly you can hear things you don't notice in July—the wind through the trees, the water against the shore, the birds in the woods.
