My deepest sympathy to TX Shrimp Diva and her family. She announced the passing of her father-in-law Jerome “Pops” Kunz.

He was a larger than life island legend still working on his shrimp boat at the great age of 93. He worked hard with his family to preserve a dying industry. Advocated against cheap imported farmed shrimp, promoted wild caught gulf shrimp, and fought for restaurants to be more transparent where their shrimp supply was coming from.

He passed away Monday after tending to his garden. My condolences to Nikki and her family. 🙏💔
