Trips today rarely start with a hotel search.

Instead, travelers watch videos of local restaurants, consider recommendations, and imagine themselves experiencing a destination long before they decide where to stay. According to the Amadeus Travel Dreams research, inspiration and planning increasingly shape travel decisions well before a booking is ever made.

For destinations and hoteliers alike, this shift presents both a challenge and an opportunity. Travelers aren't simply looking for a place to stay — they're choosing the experiences, flavors, people and moments that make a destination memorable.

The most successful destinations and properties understand this. Rather than marketing individual products on their own, they work together to tell a compelling destination story, helping travelers envision the experiences they'll enjoy long before they arrive.

Technology plays an important role. Data, personalization, and AI can help destinations and hotels better understand traveler intent, improve visibility during the inspiration phase, and enable more relevant experiences throughout the journey.

Whether its discovering a neighborhood café, exploring a nature trail or enjoying authentic Caribbean cuisine, these moments often become the reasons a trip is remembered. The hotels that connect travelers to the destination experience earliest and most effectively will be best positioned to drive demand, strengthen loyalty, and build lasting guest relationships.

Caribbean tourism welcomes more than 35 million visitors annually.

Serving them requires an estimated US$40 billion in spending on goods and services. More of that opportunity should reach Caribbean businesses.

From food and beverage to hotel supplies, creative goods, technology and business services, this is an opportunity to present what your business can supply and begin building valuable commercial relationships.

Caribbean products. Caribbean buyers. One important room.

The Linkages Showcase is exclusively for SMEs. Registration is separate from access to CHIEF sessions and Speed Networking. A special CHIEF registration rate is available to Showcase participants.
