Halloween weekend starts right here. 🎃🌊

Foggy pier at sunrise, a calm bay run, the lazy river through the palms, rows of blue chairs waiting, a dolphin in the harbor, sunset at the pier — and fireworks over the Gulf to finish.

This is what March days look like here, too. Spring Break 2027's best weeks and best places go first — book early and lock yours in now, not in February.

Still open this weekend, Fri Oct 30–Sat Oct 31: Heron 408, Pelican Beach 814 and Azure 222 both nights, plus Destin West G204 Fri & Sat nights only. Warm water, quiet beaches, fall rates.

Book direct at saltyvibesbeachrentals.com and skip the platform fees.

Kite up, worries down. 🪁

A kite surfer working the surf right off our stretch of Okaloosa Island — green kite over emerald water, and not a care in the world. This is the Emerald Coast showing off on an ordinary fall afternoon.

Destin West check-in, four days after Isaias. 🌴

The Gulfside beach is back — umbrellas up, boats out, folks in the water — and the pool deck is busy again too.

Grateful for the crews working across Okaloosa Island this week, and for everyone who checked in on us.

Thinking about a quiet fall beach week? We are open. Book direct: saltyvibesbeachrentals.com

Monday morning, and the Emerald Coast is waking back up. ☀️

Isaias moved through Friday night — and by all accounts our stretch of beach held up well. Crews are out clearing debris, power is coming back, and the water is settling.

Thinking of everyone across the Panhandle hit harder than us today.

When you are ready for some quiet sand and warm fall water, we are here. Book direct and skip the platform fees: saltyvibesbeachrentals.com

Sound on. 🌊

Sunday morning on the Emerald Coast — and the Gulf is glass again.

Isaias came through Friday night and the Panhandle is still cleaning up, but the water is already back to doing what it does best. Our condos came through it fine, and our little stretch of sand is shaking itself off.

Take thirty-five seconds with the waves this morning. More sunshine posts this week.

🌀 Isaias — Saturday morning update

Hurricane Isaias came ashore Friday night near Destin as a strong Category 2 storm with 105 mph winds, and weakened overnight into a post-tropical system. The National Hurricane Center has issued its final advisory and all watches and warnings are dropped — but flash flooding and a tornado threat linger today across parts of the Panhandle, Alabama, and Georgia.

In Okaloosa County, emergency crews are out assessing damage this morning. Roughly 6 in 10 accounts in the county are without power (about 77,000 outages as of 6:30 a.m.), with 2–3 feet of flooding reported in Fort Walton Beach and downed trees and power lines across the Panhandle.

If you evacuated, please wait for your county's official all-clear before heading back. Today: don't drive through standing water, treat every downed line as live, and run generators outdoors only.

We'll keep passing along official updates. Stay safe out there. 🤍

🌀 Hurricane Isaias — landfall tonight

Isaias is coming ashore along the western Panhandle tonight as a major hurricane. The next several hours are the most dangerous: destructive winds, life-threatening storm surge, and flooding rain.

Tonight, please:
• Stay indoors and away from windows until officials give the all-clear
• Storm surge peaks around landfall — stay away from the water
• If the wind suddenly goes calm, you're in the eye — the other side is coming, stay inside
• Never drive through flooded roads — turn around
• Expect power outages; use flashlights instead of candles

We'll be back in the morning with recovery information. Holding everyone on the coast in our thoughts tonight. 💙

Dinner at one of our go to spots tonight. Dewey Destin’s! Love eating by the harbor.
