Our Hearts Are Overflowing With Gratitude 🙏

Yesterday afternoon, our beloved camp host Mr. Jerry woke up and was able to communicate with his doctors.

For those who've been praying — this is HUGE.

After everything his body and mind have been through, the fact that his brain is functioning, that he can communicate, that doctors can see his sharp mind intact... this is nothing short of miraculous. This is answered prayer. This is Jesus showing up.

We believe in a God who heals the sick and the lame. As it says in Jeremiah: "I will restore you to health and heal your wounds, declares the Lord." We believe in the power of prayer. And we also know that sometimes His timeline isn't ours. Sometimes His plan looks different than what we asked for. When that happens, we trust. We wait. We accept.

But when prayers ARE answered like this?

We celebrate. We give thanks. We shout it from the rooftops.

Thank you to every single person who has prayed for Jerry and his family. Your faithfulness matters.

An update on our beloved Mr. Jerry 💙

Many of you have been asking about Jerry French, our camp host and one of the kindest men you'll ever meet.

Here's where things stand.

Jerry is recovering at the hospital in Asheville. He's still in critical condition after surgery — but he is showing signs of improvement.

He's slowly coming out of heavy sedation.

Doctors are watching two things closely:

His breathing — with the hope of getting him off the ventilator
His kidney function — which is improving

Given his age and how serious this has been, the medical team is "cautiously optimistic" that he's on track to recover.

As we shared before, life will look different for Mr. Jerry going forward. We're taking it one day at a time.

Thank you for every prayer, every message, every well wish. It means everything to Jerry, to his family, and to all of us here.

We'll keep you posted as we have news to share.

Rose Creek family — we want to share some news about our beloved camp host, Jerry.

Jerry has been dealing with some serious intestinal issues and is in the hospital in Asheville, where he's had surgery and is now recovering. He's in critical condition, but his doctors believe he's going to pull through. The road ahead will look different for him — this procedure will affect his mobility and how he gets around day to day.

So we're asking our Rose Creek community to do what this community does best: pray for Jerry. Pray for steady hands on his care team, for healing, and for the day we get to see that smiling face and hear those terrible-but-wonderful jokes around the campground again.

We'll share another update as soon as we know more.

And if you're headed our way for Labor Day weekend — Our team is ready for you, and they're taking care of everything with the same heart Jerry always has. We could not be more grateful for the crew stepping up at Rose Creek in his absence.
