For the 2026 camping year we will be making a post every Friday, dubbed “Fun Fact Friday”, to highlight some facts surrounding our nation’s 250th anniversary and the Adventure 250 Challenge.

Our first Fun Fact Friday of the year features the park’s very own King and Queen Rock!

FUN FACT FRIDAY: The Sioux Quartzite cliffs have been the inspiration for many U.S. postage stamps.

Afternoon folks,

We have closed down the Queen comfort station as more work is needed to be done to our lift station. In the meantime the King campground comfort station is open.

This weekend we hosted a smore's cookout thanks to the SD Parks & Wildlife Foundation. We discussed the foundation, talked about America's 250th celebrations, and about the parks Adventure 250 theme.

You can still partake in our theme all summer for a chance at great prizes.
