Who decided a getaway had to wait until Friday?

While the rest of the world is counting down to the weekend, you could be waking up to Lake Toxaway with the Blue Ridge stretching beyond your window. In November, the last traces of autumn still cling to the mountains. By December, the Inn is dressed for Christmas and evenings are made for a seat by the fire.

There's something rather wonderful about stealing a Tuesday or Wednesday for yourself, especially when the holiday calendar is filling fast. Make the most of the quieter days between celebrations with a midweek stay at The Greystone.

As evening settles over Lake Toxaway, two seats at The Mansion Bar are a fine place to end up. Order a cocktail, settle in beneath the warm glow of the bar, and watch the last of the daylight disappear beyond the windows.

This winter, make your way to Lake Toxaway and see The Greystone after the leaves have fallen and the lake has taken on its quiet winter character. The Locals Loyalty Program offers our Carolina neighbors special rates and offers throughout November and December, making a few days away at the lake a little easier to plan.

This Thanksgiving, let The Greystone take care of the cooking.

Gather around the table in The Restaurant for a three-course holiday dinner inspired by the flavors of the season. Start with Roasted Butternut Squash Bisque or Baby Kale & Mountain Apple Salad, then choose a main course of Slow-Roasted Heritage Turkey, Mountain Trout Almondine, or Pork Tenderloin. Leave room for dessert, with Pumpkin Cheesecake, Warm Apple Cobbler, or Chocolate Pecan Pie to finish the meal.

There’s a different kind of quiet when you’re waiting for a bite.

With more than 600 acres of water and limited access to the lake, fishing at Lake Toxaway offers a chance to get out on the water and see what’s below the surface. Rainbow and brown trout, bass, walleye, catfish, and bluegill all call the lake home, so you never quite know what you’ll pull in.

Fishing rods and bait are available for guests at The Greystone. All you need to bring is a little patience.

The hills around Lake Toxaway start catching fire with color, and the reflections stretch across the lake like a second landscape. It’s the kind of view that makes staying home feel like the lesser plan.

Send this to the person who should be there with you.
