Did you know that long before it was the destination you know today, Bent’s Camp was an informal supply depot for the entire Cisco Chain?

Back in the 1910s and 20s, the "Bent’s Camp fleet" included everything from birch bark canoes to a custom-built, tar-sealed steam barge nicknamed "The Tar Baby." From the early days of hauling timber by hand-pump rail cars to the legendary shore lunches prepared by Lizzie Bent, the story of this place is filled with grit, innovation, and some truly incredible Northwoods lore.

We’re sharing a glimpse of the past, but there is so much more to the story, including the high-stakes hunting traditions and the characters that shaped this land.
