State and federal land management agencies will lift Stage 1 fire restrictions within the Boise Fire Restriction Area (see map below) effective 12:01 a.m. Sept. 3, as wildfire danger has decreased over the past week.
The restrictions were put in place on Aug. 7 when fire danger and burning conditions were unusually high. Current conditions no longer meet the criteria outlined in the Idaho State Fire Restrictions Plan to remain in Stage 1.
Officials urge visitors to continue to be cautious when recreating on state endowment and public lands. Although restrictions are lifted, fire season is not over and human-caused wildfires remain a threat.
Tips to help prevent wildfire:
โข Never leave a campfire unattended.
โข Keep water and a shovel nearby.
โข Make sure your fire is dead out and cold to the touch before you leave.
โข Fireworks and exploding targets are prohibited on federal and state lands.
