5 THINGS TO DO BEFORE DRYWALL! 🏡
If you’re getting close to drywall, it’s time to double-check all those things that will soon be hidden behind the walls! 👀 Trust us, this is the time to think ahead because making changes later can be a whole lot more expensive (and frustrating!).
Here are 5 things we’re glad we did before the walls got closed up:
1️⃣ Add Extra Blocking 🔨
Think ahead to where you might want to hang heavy mirrors, floating shelves, TVs, cabinets, or other items. Adding blocking now makes installation so much easier down the road!
2️⃣ Run Low-Voltage & Cat 6 Cable 💻
Planning for internet, networking, security cameras, and other technology? Now is the time to run those cables before everything is covered up.
3️⃣ Add Smurf Tubes 🔵
These flexible conduits make running additional wires in the future much easier. A little planning now can save a lot of headaches later!
4️⃣ Video the Interior Walls 📹
Take pictures and videos of every wall before drywall goes up! You’ll thank yourself later when you need to find a stud, locate wiring, or figure out where those pipes are hiding.
5️⃣ Add Insulation to Interior Walls 🔇
Interior wall insulation can help reduce sound traveling between rooms. We’re thinking ahead about comfort, privacy, and making our cabin feel even more like home.
