Thank you, Manistique, for welcoming us with open arms. From the first day of renovations to this week’s ribbon cutting, this community has shown up for us in every way.

To our team: you didn’t just come on board, you went all in. You painted, hauled, cleaned, fixed, and handled every finishing touch right alongside us. You took care of this building like it was your own. We couldn’t be more thankful for every one of you.

To the local businesses who came out to celebrate with us: thank you for your support. This is the start of a long partnership, and we’ll be sending every guest who walks through our doors your way, for coffee, drinks, dinner, and everything that makes Manistique worth the drive. And an extra shout out to Schoolcraft Tourism & Commerce for putting the ribbon cutting together!

Yoopers have been calling folks from below the Bridge "trolls" for decades. Turns out the biggest one lives up here. Benny the Beard Fisher is about 30 feet long and 14 feet tall, sitting along the Manistique River in Germfask, and he's under 30 minutes from your room at the Sands. Tag the troll in your life who needs to come meet him.
