The final pieces fall into place.

As construction neared completion, the capstone was placed atop the temple and the remaining exterior scaffolding began to come down. What had started as a vision years earlier was now nearly complete.

The vision becomes reality.

As construction continued, exterior panels began to transform the framework into the beautiful structure that now stands in Montpelier.
What had once been demolition equipment, construction drawings, and steel framing was becoming something recognizable to the community. With each phase of construction, the temple's final appearance came into focus and excitement continued to grow throughout the valley.

Day by day, the vision became reality.

Following the groundbreaking in 2023, construction crews worked steadily to transform plans and drawings into a structure that would soon become one of Montpelier's newest landmarks.

5 Days Until the Montpelier Idaho Temple Open House

Every transformation has a moment when the past and future meet.

In March 2021, the former Montpelier City Hall building was demolished, marking the end of one chapter and the beginning of another. During the demolition process, crews from Reynolds Excavation, Demolition & Utilities uncovered a time capsule hidden within the building's cornerstone.

For decades, that time capsule had quietly preserved a piece of Montpelier's history. As the site was prepared for its future purpose, the capsule was opened and its contents shared with the community.

Today's stop on our Daily Temple Journey: From City Hall to Sacred Ground reminds us that while buildings may change, the stories, memories, and people that shape a community continue forward.
