Lunch time high fives, unending dragons, buddy tags, safety briefings, and the joy of watching entertainment as a collective were just some of the activities that sprinkled the magical feeling throughout Session 6 of Cub Scout Adventure Camp this summer.

Every activity, every meal, every campfire gave the Cubs the space and ability to explore something new or simply enjoy a classic camp memory.

The three fantastic days of Session 6 were filled to the brim with happiness and a bubbling excitement to return next year.

What do you hope will return for Cub Scout Adventure Camp next year?

There are a few things you can count on seeing at Cub Scout Adventure Camp:
Bug spray. Big smiles …and a whole lot of Buffalo Bills gear.

Bills Mafia was VERY well represented at Cub Scout Adventure Camp this summer at Camp Cutler - J. Warren Cutler Scout Reservation .

So we have to ask: How many Buffalo Bills fans do we have in the Greater Finger Lakes Council?

Sound off below!

Is that a bird? A plane? No, it is just a soaked sponge soaring through the air during a legendary activity at Camp Cutler, Sponge Wars. No matter the location of the battle, the sounds of delighted Cubs could be heard as each team tried their best to have no sponges remaining in their section when the final whistle sounded.

If it wasn’t the sponges making the Cub’s express happiness then it was the thrill of hearing a BB hit it’s intended target or the satisfaction of mastering a compass. Every moment of Session 6 held space to explore a new or old form of joy and entertainment.

The Challenge Trophy Camporee is taking flight October 16-18, 2026 at Camp J. Warren Cutler — and this year’s patches are bringing a whole new level of adventure.

We’re excited to officially reveal the 2026 Challenge Trophy Camporee patch collection, inspired by the dragons and fantasy world of the popular Wings of Fire book series.

Each patch features its own dragon-inspired design, creating a collection Scouts will want to earn, trade, and bring home from the Camporee. Together, the patches help set the stage for a weekend built around adventure, competition, teamwork, and the kind of unforgettable experiences that make a Camporee special.

The Challenge Trophy Camporee has always been about putting Scout skills to the test while bringing units together for a weekend of friendly competition. This year’s theme adds another layer to the experience, transforming the Camporee into a world where patrols will need to rely on teamwork, creativity, leadership, and Scouting know-how to meet the challenges ahead.

Whether you have a favorite dragon design, plan to collect the entire set, or just want to see which patch you’ll come home with, this year’s collection gives Scouts one more reason to be part of the adventure.

The patches have been revealed. Now it’s time to answer the challenge.

Even though we were more than halfway through the entirety of Cub Scout Adventure Camp, every session was treated like the very 1st and that was especially true for Session 7. The end might’ve been closer than the start for the staff but the energy and enthusiasm never faded from the opening campfire skits, the level of loudness achieved by Shadowtide during their village campfire, or the general activities and cheers.

Every camper went home with memories of the camp staff being downright amazing and over the top from their clever costumes to the knowledge they bestowed upon the Cubs.

The wet weather couldn’t s***f out the excitement of Session 7. The ending of AOL week, an epic Mud Run, humorous staff skits, and all the classic camp activities each session enjoys during Cub Scout Adventure Camp were a success.

With ponchos and jackets at the ready, the Cubs, parents, and staff alike braved each day with fresh smiles and a silent hope that the thunder would not send us indoors.

The real magic of camp is making the best out of a wet situation and just going with the flow of the day. The resilience of the Cubs sure made Session 7 feel warm with love and happiness.

We are aware of ongoing social media discussion regarding two missing dogs and Camp J. Warren Cutler. We understand how difficult it is when a family pet is missing, and we sincerely hope the dogs are found safe.

Since concerns involving Camp Cutler were first brought to our attention in July, camp staff have checked the property and buildings and have found no evidence indicating that the missing dogs are or have been at the camp.

An opportunity was also offered in July for an accompanied search of the camp property. That opportunity was not accepted.

Camp J. Warren Cutler is private property and, during the summer, is an active youth camp. The safety and security of the young people entrusted to our care is our highest responsibility. As part of Scouting America’s Safeguarding Youth practices and our camp safety procedures, we maintain controlled and appropriately supervised access to the property while camp is in operation.

For that reason, individuals cannot enter or independently search the camp property without authorization and appropriate coordination with camp leadership. These safeguards apply to visitors generally and should not be interpreted as an unwillingness to assist in locating the missing dogs.

Law enforcement is aware of the situation, and we have cooperated and will continue to cooperate with the appropriate authorities.

We encourage anyone with information that may assist in locating the missing dogs to share it directly with law enforcement.

The train (wagon) to the Cutler School of Wizardry just keeps rolling down the track with Session 4. These Cubs brought even more magic with their enthusiasm, interest, and willingness to learn and grow together. The thrill of looking over their camp map, reading through all the planned activities, and picking out their favorites for open programs gives the Cubs a sense of agency they may not find outside of camp.

With their wands raised high, the Cubs of session 4 showcased just how magical and impactful summer camp is for all those in attendance.
