Excited for Umbrella sky project😀
☂️ Downtown Pensacola is about to get even more colorful! 🌈
The iconic Umbrella Sky Project is officially returning to Intendencia Street in downtown Pensacola ahead of the summer season — and this year’s installation is expected to be bigger and better than ever! 😍
According to downtown organizers, framework installation is expected to begin this week, with the umbrellas themselves expected to arrive within the next 2–3 weeks. That means we could see the colorful canopy return by late May or early June! ☀️☂️
📍 The installation is expected to stretch between Palafox Street AND Jefferson Street in the heart of downtown Pensacola!!!
🌍 ☂️The Umbrella Sky Project originally began in Águeda, Portugal in 2012 before spreading internationally to cities around the world. The concept features hundreds of colorful umbrellas suspended above city streets, creating a vibrant open-air art installation.
🇺🇸 Pensacola became the first U.S. city to host the installation back in 2017 during Foo Foo Festival — and it quickly became one of the most successful public art activations in downtown history, drawing tens of thousands of visitors and becoming one of the city’s most photographed attractions. Get those cameras ready!!📸✨
Who’s excited to see the umbrellas back over downtown Pensacola? 👀☂️🌈
(📅 Foo Foo Festival 2026 is scheduled for October 29 – November 9. More information to come…)
