A big THANK YOU to everyone who spent Labor Day Weekend with us and helped make it such a fun finale to the summer season. From painting Campground Rocks and making bird feeders, to “Hey” rides, snow cones, bingo, karaoke sing-alongs and plenty of dancing, there was something happening all weekend long!

Sunday brought everyone together for one of our favorite traditions, the Annual Labor Day Picnic, followed by a great evening of live music from The Lost Years Band. A special thank-you goes to DJ Poosa for our Saturday night dance party and Steve Walters, who manned the grill and cooked up all those burgers and dogs on Sunday...and to everyone who contributed the amazing assortment of covered dishes and desserts. As usual, our campers know how to put together a pretty impressive picnic!

Most of all, thanks to everyone who participated, laughed, sang, danced, ate, volunteered and simply spent some time together. Mother Nature also did not disappoint and painted several beautful night skys!

Labor Day Weekend at Hickory Hollow

Put work aside and come enjoy one last big summer weekend with us! We’ve packed Saturday and Sunday with plenty of campground fun — a campsite yard sale, crafts, BBQ Hunt, “Hey” Ride, snow cones, Cash Bingo, freeze pops and more.

And we’ve got two nights of entertainment! DJ Poosa gets the party started Saturday night from 7–10 PM, then on Sunday we’ll gather at the pavilion for our Annual Labor Day Picnic at 5 PM, with The Lost Years Band playing live from 5–8 PM.

Bring a covered dish for Sunday’s picnic, bring your dancing shoes for the weekend, and plan to spend some time with your Hickory Hollow camping family as we celebrate the unofficial end of summer. Sign up for the picnic at the campground office.

SO MUCH CORN!

Our Corn Roast & Harvest Celebration may not have drawn the biggest crowd of the summer, but those who came certainly gave it their best effort—because when you have 14 dozen ears of delicious fresh sweet corn, there’s really only one thing to do: EAT MORE CORN!

The “cooler corn” turned out great, the fixins bar gave everyone plenty of ways to dress it up, and our enthusiastic crew did its best to make a dent in what may have been the largest corn-to-camper ratio in Hickory Hollow history!

Earlier in the day, we kicked things off with pine cone bird feeder crafts and even managed to recruit one of our overnight camping families as volunteer corn shuckers. Now THAT is campground participation!

We wrapped up the evening with a few fun rounds of Music Bingo, plenty of laughs, and—yes—more corn. Mother nature complimented the day with a beautiful full moon over the campground.

Thanks to everyone who brought a covered dish, helped shuck, played bingo, joined the crafts, and came out to share the evening with us.

And if anyone is wondering whether we had enough corn...

Yes. Yes, we did!

There’s PLENTY of corn—so come hungry!

Reminder for our Hickory Hollow Corn Roast & Harvest Celebration event tomorrow at 6:00 PM! We’ll have plenty of fresh, locally grown sweet corn ready to enjoy and it is GOOD! Bring along your favorite covered dish to share and we’ll take care of the corn!

And this isn’t just plain old corn. Be sure to visit our Corn Fixins Bar and build your best ear with flavored butters including garlic & herb, Parmesan & basil, black truffle and cinnamon honey—plus ranch, Mexican street corn and dill pickle seasonings, bacon bits and more.

Wash it all down with a glass of our Golden Harvest Punch, a refreshing blend of apple cider, fruit juices, ginger ale, fresh fruit and cinnamon. It’s family friendly as served, with a caramel vodka upgrade available for adults 21+. Followed by Music Bingo!
