Right now, somewhere along Lake Shetek, there's a family finishing breakfast at a picnic table, kids already asking to go back down to the water, and not a single screen in sight.
That's Labor Day weekend at our campground. Not a big production, just the good, ordinary stuff that somehow feels extraordinary once you're actually here: the last warm swim of the season, tent flaps unzipped to the morning light, s'mores that turn into an hour of stories nobody wants to end.
If you're one of the families with us this weekend, thank you for choosing to spend your last big weekend of summer here with us. We hope it's the kind your kids bring up randomly in March.
If you're watching from home wishing you'd booked, don't worry, we'll be here for the next one too.
