When we bought Pelican Cove, this room had layers of wallpaper—along with old carpet and furniture that made the space feel much smaller and darker than it really was.

We stripped back the layers of wallpaper, added new flooring, lightened everything up, and gave the room a whole new feel.

And that dresser? Yep, it’s the same one! Rather than get rid of a perfectly good piece, I sanded it down and painted the drawers. A little DIY was all it needed for a second life.

When you’re furnishing a house on an island, reuse what you can!

The transformation of the Crew’s Quarters is definitely one of our favorites.
