🍂🚐 **A little fall prep now means happier camping next spring!**

Fall is the perfect time to tackle RV repairs, winterization, cleaning, and storage. Before you tuck your camper away, give it a little attention:

💧 **Protect your plumbing.**
Follow your RV’s winterization instructions to drain tanks and protect water lines, faucets, toilets, and drain traps. Don’t forget the outdoor shower or any water-connected appliances! Use RV/marine antifreeze approved for potable-water systems—never automotive antifreeze. Water heaters, especially tankless models, need their own specific procedure.

🧽 **Give it a good cleaning.**
Remove all food, including pet food, and vacuum crumbs from drawers, cabinets, and under cushions. Defrost, clean, and dry the refrigerator, then leave its doors propped open while it’s turned off. Remove liquids that could freeze and burst.

🐭 **Keep unwanted winter guests out!**
Check around pipes, wiring, storage compartments, and the underbelly for entry points. Mice can squeeze through an opening about the width of a pencil! Seal gaps with appropriate rodent-resistant materials, while keeping required vents clear. A clean camper and sealed openings are your best starting point.

🔋 **Prepare for storage.**
Follow your battery manufacturer’s storage and charging directions. Check tire pressure, consider tire covers, and inspect roof seams, window seals, and slide seals for damage or leaks. Make sure everything is dry before closing up, and check on your RV periodically throughout winter.

🔧 **Notice something that needs fixing? Schedule it now!**
That leaky faucet, troublesome awning, or appliance that acted up this summer deserves attention before your next trip. Contact your RV dealer now so repairs don’t interrupt your spring and summer camping plans!

“What do campground owners do when the season ends? Do you just lock the gate and head south?” ☀️

We wish it were quite that simple! Once our last guests head home, there’s still plenty to do at Wh***ey Creek. We winterize the cabins and water lines, inspect sites and equipment, catch up on repairs that had to wait through the busy summer, take inventory, and choose new goodies for the camp store. We also start planning next year’s theme weekends, activities, and staffing.

My favorite part, though, is dreaming about how to make Wh***ey Creek even better for all of you. Then Marc gets the fun job of figuring out how to turn my dreams into reality. ❤️

🐾🎃 Let’s close out our last camping weekend with a bang!

October 9–11 is Trails & Tails Doggie Halloween at Wh***ey Creek. Pack costumes for the dogs, the kids and the grownups, and come enjoy one last autumn weekend around the campfire. We have sites available for the season send-off!

We’re celebrating with 50% off in the Camp Store and BOGO on all drinks and Campfire Café menu items while supplies last. Enjoy Halloween activities, weekend favorites and time together before camping season ends. Check the guest app for the final activity schedule.

🥣 Calling all chilli makers, soup lovers and taste-testers!

Our Chilli & Soup Cook-Off and Halloween weekend is October 2–4, and we have camping sites available! Bring the family for trick-or-treating Saturday at 5 PM, then gather at the pavilion for the cook-off at 6 PM.

Want to compete? Sign up in the Camp Store for $10 per entry. Bring a crock pot of chilli or soup, toppings and a ladle to the pavilion by 5:45 PM. Want to judge? Sign up in the office for $10 per judge. We’ll provide bowls and spoons; you bring an appetite for chilli, soup, bread and butter, good company and a campfire. First-place prizes will be awarded for Best Chilli and Best Soup! 🏆

There’s Halloween fun and self-led activities all weekend, too. Get outside and enjoy these gorgeous autumn days while they’re here. Reserve your campsite and join us! 🍂
