A random picture taken through a dirty car window. That's pretty much the story of our life this week. Go here, go there. Drop this off, pick something else up. Go to work, come home. Do it all over again.

Hi Farm Friends.

I've been blocked more times than I can count for trying to engage in farm-related commerce on this platform. So, I started a Discord community for all of us who buy sell and trade farm critters.

For those that don't know, we had quite the start to our little vacation last week. 4 hours before we were due to leave, this ram head-butted my other ram and broke his neck through the fence. THROUGH THE FENCE!

I was having a great day. Only a couple of chores to finish and my bag to pack, plus snacks for the road and bathe the dog. I had plenty of time.
Until I didn't.

So there I was at 1:00 p.m. skinning and processing a sheep. Two and a half hours later the sheep was quartered into large pans in the garage refrigerator to age while we were gone. The skin was washed and draped over a ladder to drain. The organ meat was bagged up for the dogs, and the rest of it was in a barrel ready to compost.

I still don't know why they were fighting so viciously with each other. They've shared fences many times. But if you look close at this Ram's face you will see large cuts and gashes in his nose. Obviously, he won the battle.

It's always something on the farmstead.

I'll put pictures in the comments of how I started to process the other one. Ted told me it was good practice for deer season. 🤷

Working wool today. I didn't feel like making a video so instead here's a bazillion pictures. 😂

This is the whole process of cleaning and scouring to get it ready for the carding process. Some of this will be made into woven rugs, some into dryer balls. I have 14 bags to work with, and 8 fleeces.

There are comments under each photo so you can follow along with the process. My hands are going to be butter soft this week!
