Today we pause to remember those we lost on September 11th and to honor the strength and unity that followed. Never forget.

Church bells tolled and emergency responders stood in silent salute Saturday morning as Martha’s Vineyard marked the 20th anniversary of Sept. 11 in quiet ways.

Happy Labor Day from the Vineyard Harbor Motel! 🇺🇸
Wishing everyone a wonderful Labor Day filled with family, friends, sunshine, and a little time to relax.
Thank you to all the hardworking people who make our communities so special. Enjoy the day! ❤️
— The Vineyard Harbor Motel

Labor Day may traditionally mark the unofficial close of summer, but Martha’s Vineyard is far from finished.

Make the most of the long weekend with one more beach day, a stroll through town, dinner outdoors, or an afternoon spent enjoying the Island at a slightly slower pace.

It is also a fitting moment to recognize the people whose work keeps Martha’s Vineyard moving all season long, from restaurants, farms, shops, and hotels to ferries, local services, and community organizations. Here’s to a well-earned holiday and plenty more Vineyard season still to come.

The secret is out! 🎉

Thank you to the Martha's Vineyard Chamber of Commerce helping us celebrate 50 years on Martha’s Vineyard. With beautiful harbor views and our own private beach, Vineyard Harbor Motel – Private Beach has been welcoming guests to this special island destination since 1976.

A special shout-out to Mad Martha's Ice Cream for helping us celebrate with delicious ice cream! 🍦

And for all the Jaws fans out there, you may also know us as the Amity Harbor Motel. Just when you thought it was safe to go back on vacation… 🦈🌊⚓️

Here’s to the next 50 years!
