A two bedroom 1920's style bungalow guest house for visitors to stay while visiting Champaign, Logan & Union Co in Ohio. Great alternative to a hotel!

Guests rave about it being sparkling clean and having a great vintage feel but with modern conveniences. Bobbi's Bungalow is a recently renovated two bedroom guest house, or “Airbnb” for travelers visiting the West Liberty / Bellefontaine / Urbana, OH area. It is a great space for couples, families or even two business associates traveling together. Bobbi’s Bungalow is a dream come true for owner, Roberta Yoder, as she dreamed of owning a bed and breakfast for many years. It was her husband that suggested they look at this little bungalow in the heart of historic West Liberty. When they toured it, they fell in love with the deep mahogany woodwork, original built-in cabinets and front porch swing. With the VRBO and Airbnb travel taking off, this seemed like an opportunity to take advantage of, plus satisfy the hospitality dream. Renovations began in the spring of 2016 and included a complete redo of the bathroom, updated electric with wired smoke detectors, new tile and flooring in the kitchen and new paint throughout the house. The last major decision was to pull up the plush carpet with the hopes that the original hardwood flooring was in good shape. (Roberta kept peeking under edges of carpet to get a peek and it looked very promising.) And now the beautiful refinished hardwood floor is one of the best features of the house. The bungalow was built around 1928 and that era became the overall theme of the house during renovations and decorating. Throughout the house you will find glimpses of Roberta’s past plus treasured finds from local antique stores and flea markets. The dressing table and dresser belonged to her grandparents, and the room includes photos of these cherished family members. Framed in the dining room are samples of Roberta’s collection of sheet music from her great grandmother. Friends have also contributed to the collection with furniture, glassware and other mementos of that time frame. This little bungalow has become a sanctuary for Roberta, and it can be yours as well. It is November 1st, and we have begun to make the transition from Autumn 🍁 to Christmas 🎁 Woot woot!!

I was amazed at the number of leaves to rake from our two and a half trees! (One is shared with the neighbor). Too bad our grandson isn't here to join in the fun!

For ten years, Bobbi's Bungalow has welcomed guests celebrating birthdays, anniversaries, engagements, honeymoons, adoptions, and so many other meaningful occasions.

From a woman who returned to West Liberty from Arizona to celebrate her 103rd birthday to a couple who arrived as sweethearts and left as fiancés, these stories remind us how special it is to be part of life's milestones.

We've also welcomed families gathering to remember loved ones and celebrate the bonds that bring us together.

As we wrap up our 10 Guest Traditions We've Loved Being a Part Of, we're grateful for every guest who has made Bobbi's Bungalow part of their story.

When is the last time you visited the Ohio Caverns?

Our new arch had a lot of use this summer! Make sure to tag us in your arch photos or drop them in the comments!

We have officially entered October, which means we are in our Winter hours and tours. Tour options and start times vary by day, and we are open daily 10am-4pm! Stop by any time!

Ohio Caverns is open seven days a week 10am-4pm, CLOSED ONLY on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.

Tradition #8: A Home Away From Home

Over the past 10 years, some of our guests have become much more than visitors. They’ve returned year after year, sometimes staying for weeks at a time, until Bobbi’s Bungalow has become their home away from home.

From an Arizona couple who hangs their state flag on our front porch every year, to a California couple who has returned for seven years, to a special guest from Alabama who became a dear friend, these returning guests have created some of our most meaningful memories.

And that’s one of the things we’ve loved most about the past 10 years—watching guests become part of the story of Bobbi’s Bungalow. ❤️

Tradition #7: Discovering the Fun Around West Liberty!

Sometimes guests come to West Liberty for one special reason—and discover so much more!

This summer, a family stayed at Bobbi’s Bungalow for three nights to celebrate their daughter’s birthday and visit Ohio Caverns. Along the way, they explored West Liberty, enjoyed our local shops and restaurants, met some friendly locals, and fell in love with the area.

From Ohio Caverns, Marie’s Candies, Piatt Castle Mac-A-Cheek, Stoner’s Ice Cream Parlour, Freshwater Farms and the Champaign Aviation Museum to shopping in Urbana and Bellefontaine, there’s plenty to see and do!

And sometimes the best part is simply stepping out the front door, enjoying the front porch, taking a walk, and experiencing small-town hospitality.
