For Cheetah Plains Foundation, it begins with local women from neighbouring communities handcrafting beanies, available to our guests in the on-site boutique. These beanies create not only jobs and skill development but every purchase ensures that either one or both beanies purchased will be donated to the local school, to keep children warm against the bitter elements in the cooler months. Each stitch represents more than warmth.

It supports livelihoods, preserves traditional skills, and creates meaningful economic opportunities beyond the reserve’s boundaries.

There’s rarely a quiet moment in the trees of the Sabi Sand.
Between the rustling leaves and distant calls, the Southern Yellow-billed Hornbill moves through the bush with unmistakable character. Bright eyed, curious, and always seeming slightly unimpressed by the passing game vehicles.

Often seen foraging through the undergrowth or perched between the branches, these hornbills form part of the smaller stories unfolding around you on safari. The ones easily missed, until suddenly they become impossible to forget.
