South Africa celebrated Women’s Day on 9 August 2026 with the official theme “Empowered Women. Empower Nations”

Our beautiful Kayleigh Cobey , manager of our Escape W**es Tasting Room at Blackwaters River Lodge & Mashie Golf Course created a lovely "Sip, W**e & Paint" experience that was truly enjoyed by everyone!

Besides being the tasting room manager, Kayleigh at her youthful age, is very creative and assist with many events & event planning in our town. She is a true example of a woman with passion.

Participants were treated with nibble bowls with locally produced products from our Ganzvlei area, made by the Earth & Fire Restaurant at Blackwaters team, crisp w**es and a tasting from Escape W**es and while hearing the story of the w**e farm, being creative by painting on a w**e glass that they could take home

South Africa celebrated Women’s Day on 9 August 2026, with the official theme “Empowered Women. Empower Nations”

At Blackwaters River Lodge & Mashie Golf Course, we don’t just create experiences, each one of our offerings have a very specific vision to build and grow women in small businesses, women in leadership positions and women being resilient in a challenging world

Our “Wildflowers & Wonder” guided hikes for Women's Day were led by esteemed & accredited local guide and business owner of Lithemba Crafts & Tours, Michelle Lencoe

🍋 Participants were welcomed with our homemade lemon cordial, made from our own lemons from the citrus trees on our property
♻️ Carton w**e boxes were re used as a floral bouquet vase
🗑 While on the hike, participants assist with the picking up of papers, cans & packaging along the trail
🌈 Afterwards, each person received a “Certificate of Resilience”
