Last night as our guests enjoyed dinner on the deck, a few lions decided to make an unforgettable appearance.

With hippos already providing their usual soundtrack from the river below, the lions casually strolled past the lodge and lingered nearby, giving everyone a front-row seat to one of nature’s most extraordinary spectacles.

Seeing lions in the wild is always a privilege. Having them visit right in front of the lodge during dinner is something truly special.

Recently, guests at River House were treated to this beautiful sighting of a hippo and calf grazing on the opposite bank from the lodge. Watching these gentle giants peacefully feeding in the early light is one of those unforgettable safari moments that makes staying here so special.
